![]() ![]() The first deck I started brewing up was for our return to “Hobo” night at our Casual card night. ![]() Well, Journey into Nyx is no different and has offered up loads of fun new ideas already and I wanted to take some time to share some of the Casual new brews I’ve been piecing together even before Nyx drops in May. If I can fill the yard and make a bunch of insects, I'll have done my thing, and I'll be satisfied.I love spoiler season! The new cards start to open up so many crazy and neat new ideas to make decks, revisit old ones, and brew up some silly things that I can take with me to my next Casual card night. My current game plan is to search out ] so that I don't miss land drops, and then start filling the yard asap.Īny dredge players that know this style better? As you can see from my sideboard, there are combo ideas floating over there, but I'd rather avoid infinites unless the deck just gets pounded on without ever having a chance to cast Izoni even once. I'm only just getting comfortable with the idea of dredging to replace my draw, as my decks have always been super duper heavy on card advantage. My newest project is to try and dredge to make tokens, using ]. The spikier "get that win" part of me lives in my cEDH decks, while I enjoy just "doing the thing" when playing lower powered decks. I like to build "mid" (high-powered/focused/optimized non-combo decks) for my playgroup and online play, and especially like commander-centric strategies.
